Maintenance and Reliability Recruitment
Engineering and technical appointments within advanced manufacturing.
When a line stops, your maintenance team decides how much it costs you. Strong multi-skilled and reliability engineers are in short supply everywhere. Core Search finds them, tests their skills and helps you keep your lines running.
Roles we recruit
Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers
Electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and repair across production equipment.
Electrical Maintenance Engineers
Electrical fault-finding, PLC diagnostics, drives, controls and installations.
EC&I Engineers and Technicians
Electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance, calibration and improvement.
Reliability Engineers
Reducing downtime through data, root cause analysis, maintenance strategy and condition monitoring.
Maintenance Planners
Planning and scheduling work, spares, shutdowns and CMMS management.
Maintenance Team Leaders and Supervisors
Leading shift teams, prioritising breakdowns and driving planned maintenance.
Skills and systems we search for
We search across every common skill set and system. If your plant runs on it, we can find engineers who know it.
Technical skills
Electrical and mechanical fault-finding, PLC diagnostics on Siemens and Allen-Bradley, drives and servos, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and BS 7671 18th Edition.
Reliability methods
TPM, RCM, root cause analysis, FMEA, OEE improvement, vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis and other condition monitoring.
CMMS
SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Infor EAM, MaintainX, Fiix, eMaint and other planned maintenance systems.
Why these hires are hard
Genuinely multi-skilled engineers who are strong on both electrical and mechanical work are scarce, and the good ones are well looked after by their current employers.
Shift patterns, call-out and overtime all change what a role is worth, and a candidate will compare the whole package, not just the base salary.
How we search
- We challenge the specification where it narrows the pool without adding value. For example, we ask whether the role needs a fully multi-skilled engineer or a strong electrical engineer with mechanical support.
- We map the local market before we start, so you know how many people fit and what they earn.
- We headhunt directly, including engineers at nearby sites who are not actively looking.
- We test technical depth before you meet anyone: qualifications, the equipment they have maintained, fault-finding examples and shift experience.
- We manage the offer and the counter-offer, so a good process does not fall over at the last step.
Who we work with
High-volume and precision manufacturers, food and packaging plants, automotive suppliers and process sites across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, the West Midlands and the UK.

How quickly can you shortlist?
For most roles, we share a market view within days and a shortlist within two weeks. Rare skills take longer.
What areas do you cover?
Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and the wider Midlands are our base, and we recruit nationally.
